FLIGHTS

HOW TO GET TO US (from afar)

We can wait to see you! If you're traveling from afar, you're likely flying in. There's plenty of options if you are not familiar with the area. Here are our 4 recommendations:

1. Westchester County Airport (HPN)

Justin's most convenient airport pick

This is the closest airport to Weston, however it is very small and grabbing your luggage can be stressful as the room is usually crowded. You will likely not find a direct flight, and will need to take a connecting flight to get here.

Getting to us from here:
This airport is close enough to UBER/LYFT to the hotel, but rental cars are also available.

2. JFK Airport (JFK)

Justin's most commonly used Airport

This is the largest airport near us, located in NYC. An added benefit of flying into NYC is that... well you can go to NYC! If you're planning to make the trip into a longer stay, you likely want to go to JFK.
Note we are not SUPER close to this airport, To get to our town, you will need to take the train and an uber OR rent a car. There is not a lot of public transportation available once you get closer to us. Please plan ahead for your own transportation needs.

Getting to us from here:

a/ Public Transportation:
You will need to take the Airtrain (which you pay for -- this is easy to miss) from the airport to the subway. You will then take a train or the subway to Grand Central ), You will then need to take another train from Grand Central to South Norwalk (which usually runs ever half hour), and transfer to Danbury (which runs every 2 hours) . This usually takes 3 hours, but can take longer. To get from the train station to your hotel/airbnb/etc you will need to get an uber/cab.

b/ Rent a car:
The easiest way to get to us from JFK, but you'll need to drive on the highway in NYC. This is usually fine, but expect traffic to be congested depending on the time of day. Highly recommend this option if you are staying for a few days so you can freely explore.

3. LaGuardia (LGA)

Recommended over JFK if renting a car

This is the second airport near us, located in NYC. Same as above... if you are flying in here, you can benefit by staying in NYC and making this a weekend trip!

Getting to us from here:

a/ Public Transportation:
You will need to take the public bus from the airport to the subway -- there are no subway lines that go to LaGuardia. You will then take a train or the subway to Grand Central (which you also pay for), You will then need to take another train from Grand Central to South Norwalk (which usually runs ever half hour), and transfer to Danbury (which runs every 2 hours) . This usually takes 3 hours, but can take longer. . To get from the train station to your hotel/airbnb/etc you will need to get an uber/cab.

b/ Rent a car:
The easiest way to get to us from from LaGuardia. It's honestly an easier drive than JFK if you're looking to rent a car. Highly recommend this option if you are staying for a few days so you can freely explore.

4. Bradley (BDL)

Technically located in CT and likely the first airport you'll see come up!

This is the international aiport in CT, however it is located further out than all of the above airports. If you do not want to drive in NYC you can rent a car here. It will take just as long as long as JFK or LaGuardia to drive from here. You will need to rent a car.

RIDES

CARS

We highly recommend renting a car to get around. We will have transportation to the wedding but beyond that please make your own plans for travel.

UBER

Uber and Lyft do operate in the area. It does appear to be pretty reliable but do your homework on costs for rides vs car rental. We hope you are able to enjoy your time near our little town but there is not really public transportation.

THINGS TO DO

⁜ NYC ⁜

As depicted in Sam Rami's Spider-Man 2, NYC is a fairly large city located near CT.

You likely know if you want to spend time here already, but if you're on the fence: Ann & Justin take day trips to NYC to get dinner / watch a play / grab tea / get a bagel or pizza /etc. So we give it 4 stars our of 5.

⁜ DEVIL'S DEN NATURE PRESERVE ⁜

Devil’s Den Preserve is TNC's largest continuous preserve in Connecticut and the largest tract of protected land in densely developed Fairfield County. Its patchwork of woodlands, wetlands and rock ledges and a series of north-south ridges and valleys woven with streams and swamps make Devil’s Den ideal for low-impact outdoor activities such as hiking and bird watching. Plus its super close to our house. <3
